Nepal

During my senior year of college, I had the opportunity to take a class called “Third-World Rural Philanthropy,” taught by a local lawyer and philanthropist. We discussed how best to serve communities in places like Nepal and at the end of the class — and right after I graduated — we traveled to Nepal to visit a village where a non-profit headed by our teacher had contributed things such as toilets and electricity.

This was the first time that I had ever traveled outside the country and it was an experience I will never forget. I was able to take and travel with all of my gear throughout the Himalayas and then stayed an extra week in Kathmandu just to explore. I even captured some of my visit in film!
